Sarah Kennedy

Sarah Kennedy, a delightful and charismatic jazz vocalist, brought her sultry vocals to Montreal from Vancouver, BC. Singing in French, English, Portuguese and Spanish, she is known to take requests in almost any genre or language.

She refined her skills in Jazz and Contemporary voice at Capilano University and Vancouver Community College. She has performed in Jazz Festivals, singer-songwriter showcases, and a wide variety of arts venues, corporate events, and of course weddings. Her smile lights up the room and her elegant demeanor captivates the crowd.

Andy MacDonald

Andy MacDonald, a Juno-nominated guitarist (2024), is a standout in the jazz and gypsy jazz genres. With a career spanning performances throughout North America, Europe, and Morocco, Andy brings a wealth of experience to every performance.

His solo work as a bandleader and collaborations with renowned artists have earned him a reputation for excellence. Andy is embedded in the Montreal music community and is sought after for his skill, versatility, and commitment to delivering memorable performances. Known for his professionalism, Andy's exceptional talent is sure to elevate your event.

Our Founder

Montreal Jazz Prestige was founded in 2023 as Jazz Bands Montreal by guitarist and famous YouTuber Martin Gioani. Living in Montreal at the time, he created the company to connect top local jazz musicians with clients seeking refined live jazz for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations.

He recruited jazz vocalist Sarah Kennedy for her incredible voice, stage presence, and a collaborative artistic direction. As demand grew, additional instrumentalists joined to add musical versatility.

Returning to France in 2024, Martin transferred ownership to Sarah Kennedy and Juno-nominated Gypsy jazz guitarist Andy MacDonald. Martin remains involved as a consultant and website manager while developing music projects in Europe.

Our 2026 Rebrand: Montréal Jazz Prestige

In 2026, Jazz Bands Montreal was rebranded as Montreal Jazz Prestige to clarify our identity and define the standard we bring to jazz events in Montreal. The new name captures our focus on elegance, refined ambiance, and high-quality music for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations.

We chose "Prestige" as a fully bilingual name to reflect our commitment to seamless service in both French and English. Our contracts, communications, and performances are bilingual, and our repertoire spans jazz standards and contemporary selections in French, English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese, serving Montreal’s diverse clientele.

"Prestige" can mean different things to different people. For some, it evokes vintage swing. For others, Gypsy jazz, sophisticated lounge ambiance, or modern pop songs reimagined in jazz style. Across styles and eras, our goal is the same: to create an elegant musical atmosphere tailored to your event.

As a collective of dedicated professional musicians, we chose a name that signals artistic excellence, professionalism, and distinction. Montreal Jazz Prestige reflects our commitment to being a leading Montreal jazz band for clients seeking elevated live jazz with style and substance.
